Meghna is the third book by author Sundari Venkatraman after Double Jeopardy and The Malhotra Bride. This story comes with a warning “This book has been written only for the purpose of Entertainment, Entertainment, Entertainment! If you are looking to learn something or improve your lives after reading this work, then this book is not for you. I am not trying to get into competition with the Author Biggies of this world. I wrote this simply for the fun and joy of it. One thing I can promise the reader though: Well proof-read, perfect language that I feel is very important for every book that’s written in any tongue.

Edition Language: English
PLOT:  Rahul Sinha lives in England, the only son of his parents and is very distant from his mother due to her attitude. He plans a meeting with his childhood friend Sanjay, who lives in Mumbai with his family. Meghna is Sanjay’s sister who teaches dance besides working for a website company.  When he suddenly reappears in her life after six years, Meghna’s emotions are thrown for a toss. The story is about whether they find love through all the misunderstandings, fights, flirting etc.
CHARACTERS:  Rahul does not believe in the institution of marriage, after seeing the marriage of his parents collapse right in front of his eyes. He is in love, but cannot commit and is caught in the confusion of his feelings. Meghna is a modern independent girl who finds enough time for her passion. She has decided not to fall for false promises again, but there was always Rahul. The remaining characters are few and play their parts well. Rahuls parents, Sanjay and Reema and their kids, Prashant all play important parts in bringing Rahul and Meghna to the ultimate realisation of love.
WHAT I LIKED: True to its genre, and full of all possible problems that the lovers have to face before realizing their love for each other and it ends in a happily ever after. True to her word, the language of the story is simple, and perfect and the book is well edited and proof read.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: The cover, to me the cover could have been made to look less like a sims game screen shot. Also, in the first chapter Rahul kissing a sixteen year old girl a bit off. But that teenage romance is the basis of the story.
[UPDATE: The new cover is definitely better than the old one which is attached below, and was the edition I reviewed, and my views reflect that.]
Meghana
RATING: My rating for the book is 3 out of 5. The author delivers on the promise of entertainment and there is nothing you take away from the book except a smile on your face. The book though makes an entertaining read, just like those masala bollywood blockbusters. In all, the fun and joy that she has written the book with translates to the reader while reading. Pick it up only if you love Romance, with all its cliches and  happily ever afters.
The book has been given to me for review by Author. No payment was taken, and my opinions are honest and unbiased.
