Love Unsaid

Nisha looked at the couple sitting next to them. She longed to have that kind of freedom someday. She longed to show the one she loved how much she cared.
Mahi was trying to ward off the attention of the guy flirting with her. She wasnโ€™t interested; her heart was set on someone else for a really long time.
Mahi and Nisha had grown up together and were the best of friends. They had also been in love forever. If only their affection was understood, then they could be who they were, two people in love.

  4. Working with a word limit, I’d say this turned out very well. It said a lot in little, and it made me think. I’d say that’s successful. Maybe you can experiment with a longer piece on the same theme too. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yes maybe I should try to write a longer piece, that seems to be the consensus.

  5. Love has no boundaries but it is not boundaryless either. It still depends a lot on how society accept such relationships. That’s a wonderful micro fiction you wrote, Jai! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Love – the purest of things. Yet there are so many conditions attached to it. It’s really sad that in this day and age, with all the progress society has made, people still think they have to right to dictate who we can and cannot love!

    1. So true Shinjini, people do not realise that the heart wants what it does and they cannot interfere in others personal matters.

  8. I haven’t ever tried my hand at micro fiction or microblog and I admire how you or others convey an entire story in less than 100 words at times ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. True, we do have a long way to go, until their love finds acceptance. Right now we are dealing with this kid of love leading to death and suicides.

  13. That was heart-tugging ..
yes, love should always be realized ๐Ÿ™‚
    beautifully penned Jai

    1. Thank You so much Pix, so good to see you here ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. When you think about it, the show FRIENDS had a young lesbian couple (Ross’ wife & her lover) in the very first episode. And that was in 1994. They even got married a few seasons later.
How sad is it that we have finished 22 years since that day and we still cannot even express such an emotion, let alone showcase it in public.

    1. So True Doc. It is such a sad state of affairs, that two people in love cannot be looked as as just that, Two people in love.

  15. A short piece. It conveys a lot ๐Ÿ™‚ But then, even though this is a microfiction. A little more on their love and longing could have brought much more to this piece ๐Ÿ™‚ (or so I think) Cheers.

    1. Thank you so much for the Feedback Shanx. I will try and write it that way. ๐Ÿ™‚
