Magical Transformations and Power

For a bookworm like me, to pick a favourite book would be hard. But if I had to pick one it would be by her. So it is no surprise that I start this challenge with a quote from J K Rowling. While her books are abounding in some splendid quotes, the one I pick is not from the book.

““We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all the power we need inside ourselves already.”

J.K. Rowling

How many times have we wished to be able to go to Hogwarts, and live in the magical world that J K Rowling created? I know I have. I have longed for change so much, waiting and hoping that something eventually gives. Somewhere something magical happens and my life is transformed.

But soon I realised that the only person who can affect my life is me, I am the only one with the power to create magic for me. I rue all the time I have wasted waiting for the magic to happen, rather than creating the revolution. The answers we desire, the uprising we stir, the justification we seek, the strength we need, the vindication we demand, the acknowledgement we crave, all has to begin from within.

We are nothing if we do not recognise our own power, that is the real magic we seek.

PS: This is day one of the three day quote challenge. I have been tagged by Vinay who has a brilliant blog called I Rhyme Without Reason. The rules are simple share a quote you love for three consecutive days.

  1. That is such a powerful quote provided we understand and implement it in its entirety. I enjoyed your Challenge Jaibala even though I read the quotes in reverse order :-).

    1. I shared these because I believe in the power of the quote – this and the remaning two. Quotes come from someone’s experience and we must always remember that. Thanks and Gald you enjoyed the challenge Tulika 🙂

  2. Ah, Rowling! She knows to say the right things, no? Especially for ‘muggle’s like us 😀

    1. True That. Rowling always has the answer.

  3. It’s just a matter of realizing your self-worth. Inspiring quote!

  4. Ah! Indeed. The power of self. I believe in it as well. Except disease and death, most things can be transformed by us.

    1. I agree we cannot really transform death or disease, but we sure can change our approach toward it. Rather than crying about pain, we can choose to live happy till the end. Knowing power of self is the difference between living and existing.

  5. That’s a lovely quote Jaibala. Though I haven’t read JK Rowling, this is brilliant one. Enjoy the challenge!

    1. Parul, I would really recommend you read it. Also there are some really brilliant quotes in her books.

  6. Beautiful quote. And yes, magic is in us, that’s for sure. We’ve to believe it.

You’re also lucky that there’s a magician at home who can bring a smile on your face in an instant, no matter what mood you’re in. 🙂

    1. True That. We will almost always find the answers if we look within us.

  7. So true and a beautiful quote to share.

    1. Thanks Alok 🙂
