NaPoWriMo: My Book Love

Jaibala/ April 8, 2014/ Poetry

Today’s NaPoWriMo prompt was fairly easy I guess. “Today’s prompt is to write a love poem . . . but the object of the poem should be inanimate. You can write a love poem to your favorite pen, the teddy bear you had as a child (and maybe still have), or anything else, so long as it’s not alive! Happy writing.”I really did not know what to write. So here goes my attempt at Inanimate love.

The more and more I read him,

The more I get involved,

The path full of twists and turns,

For these adventures makes me yearn,

The way that he greets me,holds me, and cajoles me,

He is the center of my world,

His words captivate and behold me,

They create a space within me,

His right or wrong, Good or bad can only just impress,

And when I am with him, there goes all my stress,

Every minute spent with him better than the last,

There is Thrill and mystery along with love,

Romance for all night, a spell is cast,

I wont leave him whether you push or shove,

As I turn the next page, and read the next line,

I know every Book I read, is worth my love and Time.
