NaPoWriMo: My Happy Ending

Jaibala/ April 10, 2014/ Poetry

The Prompt for the NaPoWriMo today was “take any random song play list (from your iPod, CO player, favorite radio station, Pandora or Spotify , etc.) and use the next five song titles on that randomized list in a poem.

Happy writing!” Here is my attempt.

This is dedicated to a friend who exasperated by my procrastination took to blackmailing me to write this and from now on every poem for NaPoWriMo.

You walked away, leaving me numb,

And my heart will never breakeven,

With your every word and action you stung,

You gave me pain and took your freedom.

I dared you to move, you moved away,

I dared you to truth, only lies you said,

I dared you to happiness only pain you gave,

I dared you to trust, never looked me in the eye instead.

I am all alone, where is My Happy Ending,

I was hanging by a moment, which you just tore apart,

You left me with no hope, faith, love or pretending,

You were my angel, how could you break my heart?

(The songs in that I used are Numb by Linkin Park, Breakeven by The Script,  I dare you to move by Switchfoot, My happy ending by Mika and Hanging by a moment by Lifehouse. Also by complete unintentional occurrence we have Freedom by George Michael and Angel by Shaggy)
