NaPoWriMo: My Questions

Jaibala/ April 15, 2014/ Poetry/ 14 comments

the prompt for NaPoWriMo today was “Today’s prompt (optional, as always) is a little something I’m calling “Twenty Questions.” The idea is to write a poem in which every sentence, except for the last one, is in the form of a question. That’s it! It can be as long or short as you like. The questions can be deep and philosophical (‘what is the meaning of life?’) or routine and practical (‘are you going to eat that?’). Or both!

Happy writing!”. Well my head was brimming with a lot of questions I guess……

MY QUESTIONS

Do I have to take your permission, to say what I want, to do what I want?

Will everything that my heart desires, be unheard and always wrong?

Will every decision, every move you haunt?

Is it so wrong to try to be strong?

What about the still stone, it isn’t  only the lonely road that gathers dust?

Do I always need a crutch, when my feet are perfectly fine?

What more do you expect, will my strength you never trust?

Do you think I need help, on the road that leads to mine?

Are you still the one that taught me, to be me and be brave?

Was I always weak to you, were things  always amiss?

Did I do something so bad, so grave?

That you could not stand by or watch it?

Weren’t you the one who started this dare, to always be right and fair?

Did you not want to stand by me come what may?

Then how when it was time, you only chose for me only despair?

It my life, Ill do it my way can that I just say?

Do they know that you gave me life?

Aren’t you my meaning, my life, my reason too?

Do you know that you are my grace, and take away my strife?

Are you born from me or Me from you?

My Little Angel, what do you see, when you look with those wide eyes at me?

Is it a lost soul, Is it a girl, or a woman who is confused by it all?

Tell me every time how you make me believe?

That I am the best for you, that is all.

    1. True NJ……The ones that come from the heart are the ones that are difficult to voice

  6. So many strong hard hitting questions! And just one answer for all..well done Jai!

    1. Thanks Sfurti. They were meant to be the hard questions…..and yes in the end that is the only answer that matters 🙂

  7. Hard hitting and heartfelt questions these are, Jb. Not something that I guess we’d be able to voice in real life without feeling a little uncomfortable ourselves. Well attempted!

    1. Maybe we should just ask these questions whenever we feel like, we might be happier. Thank You 🙂
