“Sassy Sweet and Fast Moving” are the three words on the cover that Anuja Chauhan has used to describe the book. Well I found this book to be all that and more. No Time For Goodbyes by Andaleeb Wajid is a perfect Teenage romance Novel, with
a bit of a whole lot of complications.

PLOT: A lot of unexpected things happen in the life of 16 year old Tamanna, during a very boring summer vacation of 2012. She finds a Polaroid photograph of her mother, and ends up time travelling to her Mothers teenage days in 1982. As she is taken in by the life her mom lived, she meets her handsome neighbour Manoj. His Grandfather is scientist and experimenting with time travel. As he researches how to send her back she gets to live the life and share her mother’s experiences. And to create further complications, Manoj and Tamanna fall in love. Will the relationship work if she has to get back? Will she even get back? This is what the story deals with.
CHARACTERS: Tamanna is our everyday teenager, spending all her time on the phone or the internet, doesn’t like the ideas her mom suggests, and is the polar opposite of her studious younger sister. Her mother, Suma is a typical mom but she was very different in the past, with so many dreams. The way Tamanna , sees and deals with the similarities and differences between the people they were then and now is handled very well. Calm and cool Ajji, with her modernistic traditional outlook, her aunts and their quirks, every little detail of the characters shown so clearly without telling much. The characters and the way they interact is the crux of this book.
WHAT I LIKED: The pace of the book is perfect, not too fast and not too slow. Despite dealing with a aspect like time travel, does not get confusing at any time. The transitions between the past and the present are so well handled. The characters are so well written and the differences in the two eras are so clearly portrayed that there is no chance for confusion. What made the book even more interesting to read is that I instantly fell in love with Tamanna (and yes Manoj too), and that made me eager to read more and more.
WHAT I DID NOT LIKE: Oh the cliffhanger in the end!!!! Nobody likes cliffhangers right. Leaves so many questions unanswered What? Why? When? Where? How? Provided the next installment of the book comes out real soon, I do not like being left hanging on this cliff. Yes it is so very well done. I want the next book and I want it now. Ooops!!!! I would Like to ask the author very politely to write the next book soon, really looking forward to it.
RATING: MY rating for the book 4.5 on 5. It is a very well written book, which I will surely recommend to every Teenager, Anyone that has a teenager, A Lover of Time Travel Stories, A person that loves to read Young Adult novels. Oh I will just tell everyone I know to read the book.
The book has been given to me for review by Bloomsbury India. No payment was taken, and my opinions are honest and unbiased.
