Stranger Than Fiction

Yes, I know I usually do not take up tags. But the prompt stumped me, and then I got thinking what can be Stranger than fiction. And it is nothing but the truth. I had seen this tag going around, and it was the perfect way to tell you some more about myself. So, here they are the answers.

How did you get one of your scars?
My most obvious scar on the left arm, came from doctor’s negligence. I had fractured my hand when I was about 6, and the doctor set the bone upside down. All the pain of the bone setting wrong proved advantageous because that is how we found out of the error. I had to get operated on to rectify that, leaving me with11 stitches and a awesome scar.

How did you celebrate your last birthday?
Lunch with family and a surprise gift from my Best Friend.

How are you feeling at this moment?
Tired, angry, frustrated, hopeful and eager.

How did your night go last?
Last night I was actually catching up on nostalgia and then slept.

How did you do in high school?
Academically – I did pretty well, Socially – I was so bad.

How did you get the shirt you are wearing?
It is something that I picked up from a shop in Borivli.

How often do you see your best friends?
Not as often as I’d like to.

How much money did you spend last month?
A woman never shops and tells. But had to buy a new phone so it was a sum higher than most months.

How old do you want to be when you get married?
Hmmm let’s see done that once when I was 28. We all know how that worked out. Now I am not setting deadlines for life goals like these. I will get married again when I find the person who is right for me and wants to be with me. But I am not doing this because there is some stupid deadline that says I have to do it.

How old will you be at your next birthday?
Really! You think a woman would, knowingly tell you her actually age. Well, you think right. I shall be 34, next birthday.

Your mother’s name?
I have known my mother all life as Annuja M Rao, until I found out she had a different name before she got married.

What did you do last weekend?
It was raining pretty heavily, so we (S and I) just enjoyed the weather.

What is the most important part of your life?
The single most important part of my life is S. I do value the little moments and my friends the most but nothing is more important than S.

What would you rather be doing?
Right now, I really would not want to be tending to a sick child. Other than that I think I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing in life.

What did you last cry over?
Oh I am a crier. I cry for most things. So the last thing I cried over was probably listening to some songs I loved Last night.

What always makes you feel better when you’re upset?
Talking to my best friend and songs, but mostly some alone time. I need to process things usually. Oh in case you are wondering ABBA, Liking Park, Kenny Rodgers and some others songs like this in my playlist usually does the trick.

What’s the most important thing you look for in a significant other?
Ah! such a loaded question. I think someone who is comfortable with me being me, and enables me and my dreams, someone who gives me enough space to grow, but always knows we are in it for the long haul and in it together.

What did you have for breakfast?

8 YOU’S!

Ah yes! I have had my heart shattered into millions of pieces that I have slowly put back together now. Some of those piece do stray away sometimes, but its all okay.

Have you ever been out of the country?
Not yet, but I will. And if I have any say in the matter it will be sooner rather than later.

Have you ever done something outrageously dumb?
Lets see, Dumb is my middle name so yes I am constantly either pulling my foot out of my mouth or kicking myself hard for being dumb

Have you ever been backstabbed by a friend?
Have been backstabbed, Yes,once very recently. So that wound is still fresh. I don’t know if I can call those people friends, though.

Have you ever had sex on the beach?
Neither the drink nor the act.

Have you ever read an entire book in a day?
Actually recently I have read two books in a day, and the entire Harry potter series in three days. I can read really fast.

7 WHO’S!

Who was the last person you saw?
S.  I mean he is always the first and last person I see before doing anything.

Who was the last person you texted?
The last person I texted was a thank you to someone I loved working on a project for.

Just chatting with a friend in the building lobby. That counts as hanging out right! I rarely do go out. So the last time would be when I met a bunch of Wonderful Women Last month while speaking at the Step into Blogging Event.

Who was the last person to call you?
My Mom.

Who did you last hug?
S of course.

Who is the last person who texted you?
A friend. I need to text her back soon.

Who is the last person you said, “I Love You” to?
S, I remember to tell him everyday.

Where do your best friends live?
My best friend is in Bangalore, and some close friends there, here and around the world actually.

Where did you last go?
The Gym.

Where did you last hang out?
Does the Gym count? Else it will be the Step into Blogging event.

Children’s Academy, Ashok Nagar Branch.

Where is your favorite place to be?
Somewhere quiet with my favourite music on or reading a book.

Where did you sleep last night?

5 DO’S!

Do you think anyone likes you?
I would like to think so. I know my friends do. I actually think I am likable if you would take the trouble to get to know me.

Do you ever wish you were someone else?
No not really. I am really happy with who I am.

Do you know the muffin man?
Yes I know the Muffin Man, The Muffin man, The Muffin Man! The Rhyme and the Superhero. Yes there is a Muffin Man for real somewhere.

Does the future scare you?
Anything that is not known is scary, right. The future is unknown, but finally I have stopped thinking about things I cannot control.

Do your parents know about your blog?
Yes they do.

4 WHY’S!

Why are you best friends with your best friend?
Truth be told we are the founding members of the “Awesome & Nice Club”. It is secret club and membership is by invitation only. Mainly because he accepts me for who I am unconditionally and non judgmentally.  And also because we are loyal, brutally honest and we would do anything and everything in our power to support and stand by each other.

Why did you get into blogging?
I got into blogging for the same reason that most people do, wanting a means to express. And look how it has evolved.

Why did your parents give you the name you have?
Ah, this is a story! My Paternal grandfather’s name was Balakrishna and grandmother’s name is Jailaxmi. So I am Jaibala and my brother is Jaikrishnaa

Why are you doing this survey
Just some fun and a chance for my readers to know me better.

3 IFS!

If you could have one super power what could it be?
Ah! This is like asking me to choose only one dessert I like. Not going to happen.

If you could go back in time and change one thing, would you?
With a bad marriage most people would think I’d want to change that. But honestly no, I learned so much from it, about myself and people and a whole bunch of other important stuff. Everything in my life has made me what I am today. So, no I would not want to change any one thing in my life.

If you were stranded on a deserted island and could bring one thing, what would you bring?
Oh this one is easy. My bag. It always has everything I might ever need.

Would you ever get back together if one of your ex’s ever asked you?
Hell no. There is a reason an ex is called an ex.

Would you ever shave your head to save someone you love?
In a heartbeat.

Are you happy with your life right now?
I am happy. Everything is exactly how it is supposed to be. As long as I grow, everything is perfect.

So there you go all the answers, as truthfully as possible.
