The Blessed Bond

Its better to have few friends who love you unconditionally rather than have many conditional friends.  And its even better when that friend knows the truth behind every word you use and Vins knows that about my writing.  He is my family, the kind that I chose for me, my beshtie. He is my advisor, sounding board, inspiration, blackmailer and Of Course S ka Agent – that being his favorite role (what more can a Mom ask for, her beshtie loves her Baby as much).

He is this amazing writer and his words have the power. They can make you smile on the worst of days, uplift you when you are down, inspire you to dream new dreams. You don’t have to take my word for it, just hop on over to Leo’s blog I Rhyme Without Reason and see  for yourselves.

I recently completed 100 posts and wanted him to do 101 as a guest post. But he said he will do 111 cause he likes that number. Yeah he loves to do things differently, and that is one of the reasons that make him special. Yes he is special, and I am blessed that I call him my friend. But more than anything I am blessed to have such a soul in my Life. So here’s to Vins and I am so glad I managed to wrestle this post out of him and have him here.

“There has never been, nor will there ever be, anything quite so special as the love between a mother and a son.”

I don’t know who said the above words, but I think they are most apt for the special bond that Jai and S share. I honestly don’t know what to write sometimes when I think of the love that a mother has for her son. I don’t think I can put that love to words. Even if I were to dedicate a post to my mom on her birthday, I’d struggle to find the right words to express myself. But this poem is something for Jai and S.

if ever a day should come,
which had an hour more;
I’d wonder what I can do,
that I couldn’t do before.

but this mother I am sure,
would know what to say,
she’d use the extra hour,
in just one surefire way.

she’d love her son more,
take him out to have fun,
take him to see Mickey,
or just observe him run.

she’d hear him sing too,
again that same old song;
make him some dessert
for which he does long.

and for the last minute,
of the extra hour she has,
she’d give a squishy hug,
till the last seconds pass.

for she loves that boy,
more than words can say;
the love makes me smile,
and for a moment pray.

pray that it continues,
this special bond I call,
I know that that bond
is most blessed of all.
